Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dance Marathon?

QTHON is a year round student run philanthropy event that works to support the patients, families, and employees of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. QTHON volunteers work to raise funds for the 10 hour event that will take place on February 24, 2018 in the recreation center on Quinnipiac's Mount Carmel Campus. QTHON is a tribute to the fight that these children and families have to face on a daily basis.

Do I have to have dance experience to participate in QTHON?

NO! Participating in QTHON does NOT require any previous dance experience or talent. We will teach all kinds of dance moves and we want to learn some new ones too! You simply need a big heart for the kids and the desire to have tons of fun!

Why should I have to stay for the entire dance marathon?

We ask the dancers to make a real effort to stay standing dancing for the entire marathon because QTHON is for the kids. We dance for the patients in the hospital and raise money to support their struggles and ability to survive incredible tests with strength and spirit.  While it may seem tiring or hard to stand and dance for so long, we do it because there are some kids that can’t. Please show your support and stay the whole time!

How much money should I raise, and how?

We ask all individual participants to raise as much money as they can! Every penny counts. You can raise money by asking friends, family members, or local businesses to donate.  As we get closer to QTHON, we’ll keep track of your funds and the more money you raise, the more chances you’ll have at winning fantastic prizes.

Is there a deadline to register as a team member?

No, our registration website is open up to the day of QTHON.  Register early to be a part of the special benefits of being a member of QTHON. Click here to be taken to the QTHON 2018 registration page.
